Heloise DrouinPh.D. Candidate
Héloïse has completed all of the clinical training components of her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology program at the University of Ottawa. She is currently in the process of preparing to defend her doctoral thesis. Héloïse offers psychological services in both French and English to couples and individual adults presenting with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship distress, grief and loss, trauma, poor self-esteem, interpersonal problems, and adjustment to major life transitions or chronic illness.

In her clinical work with couples, Héloïse uses an Emotionally-Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) approach to psychotherapy. With individuals, she uses an integrated approach which draws from her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), experiential, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches. She works collaboratively with each client to set up meaningful and attainable goals for therapy, and to tailor intervention plans to meet her clients’ needs. In addition, Héloïse strives to provide a safe, empathic, and warm therapeutic environment for her clients.

Héloïse has gained extensive experience providing assessment and intervention services at the Center for Psychological Services and Research (University of Ottawa), Montfort Hospital (Health Psychology Service), Rockland Family Health Team, the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic, and at the Ottawa Hospital. In addition, she continues her professional development through regular supervision, workshops, conferences, and scientific readings. At OCFI, Héloïse work is supervised by Dr. Marlene Best, C.Psych.
