Dr. MacDonald is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for autonomous practice with children, adults and families. Dr. MacDonald has experience treating individuals and families for a range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, depression, psychosis, bereavement, eating disorders and relationship difficulties. Dr. MacDonald has worked in a variety of community settings (i.e., the University of Calgary Family Therapy Centre, Crossroads Children’s Centre and the Centre for Psychological Services at the University of Ottawa) and hospital programs (i.e., the Regional Centre for the Treatment of Eating Disorders and the First Episode Psychosis Program at the Ottawa Hospital, an adolescent inpatient program and an adult outpatient psychiatric service at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, and the Youth Psychiatry Program and Schizophrenia Services at the Royal Ottawa). Dr. MacDonald primarily uses an experiential/emotion-focused approach, but also has training and experience in other approaches, such as interpersonal, psychodynamic, narrative, systemic and cognitive-behavioural.
